FAQs

Q: What is Remote Online Notarization (RON)?

A: Remote Online Notarization allows you to sign and notarize documents over a secure video call—no printing, scanning, or in-person meeting required. I use Proof.com, a state-approved platform, to walk you through the process quickly and safely.

Q: Is this legal in Wisconsin?

A: Yes. I’m a commissioned Notary Public in Wisconsin, and I’ve completed the required training to perform Remote Online Notarizations using Proof. As long as I’m physically in Wisconsin during your appointment, your notarization is valid—even if you’re located in another state.

Q: What do I need for my RON appointment?

A: You’ll need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, along with a stable internet connection. You’ll also need a valid, unexpired photo ID—such as a driver’s license or passport—and your document in PDF format. Please do not sign the document before the session.

Q: How do you verify my identity?

A: The platform I use, Proof, will verify your identity in two steps. First, you'll be asked a few security questions based on public records (this is called knowledge-based authentication or KBA). Then, you’ll upload a photo of your ID so the system can scan and analyze it to confirm that it’s valid and matches your identity.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The fee is $5 per notarization, plus a $15 platform fee. For example, if you need one document notarized, the total cost is $20. I’ll review everything and send an invoice before your session.

Q: How do I get started?

A: Start by booking your appointment online. After that, you’ll complete a short intake form to upload your documents and provide session details. If you're in a rush or don’t see a time that works for you, just message me through the chat—I’m more than happy to fit you in when I can.
